Dr. Samia Almoughrabie is the Co-Founder and CEO of Theravie Pharma, a UC San Diego spin-off developing innovative treatments for acne and other inflammatory skin diseases.
With a background in dermatology and translational research, she is focused on turning academic discoveries into clinically meaningful therapies. Under her leadership, Theravie has secured an exclusive UC San Diego license, generated promising preclinical and human ex vivo data, and is advancing its lead acne program toward clinical development as the company prepares for its next financing and growth phase.
Her work sits at the intersection of science, intellectual property, licensing, technology transfer, and biotech company building. She brings a hands-on perspective on what it takes to move university innovation from the lab into a biotech company and, ultimately, closer to patients.
