Jennifer Burdman is an intellectual property strategist, former biotech executive, and first-chair trial lawyer with over two decades of experience helping universities, startups, and venture-backed companies build and monetize IP portfolios that drive enterprise value. She is Co-Founder of Triquetra Law Group, which provides fractional CIPO services and IP advisory to life sciences and technology companies, and Co-Founder of CureCatalyst Institute, a nonprofit accelerator bridging scientific discovery and patient access. She serves as Co-Chair of the LESI Life Sciences Committee.
She has represented universities and research institutions in sponsored research agreements, license structures, and IP ownership disputes—including the successful defense of The Regents of the University of California against a licensee seeking expanded rights under agreements tied to blockbuster prostate cancer treatment compounds.
As Chief IP Officer at Valo Health, Jennifer led IP strategy through its pre-IPO process and served as lead legal architect of the company’s landmark Novo Nordisk collaboration—recognized by Nature as one of the top 20 biopharma deals of 2023. She also led IP diligence and integration for Valo’s acquisitions of Courier Therapeutics, a protein therapeutics company founded out of Washington University in St. Louis, and Tara Biosystems, a cardiac disease modeling company—both university-originated startups brought into Valo’s AI-driven drug discovery platform. Earlier, as CIPO at PolarityTE (now PolarityBio), she built the company’s IP portfolio from startup through Nasdaq listing.
Before going in-house, she was a law firm partner and first-chair trial lawyer, with results including a $900 million trade secret verdict. She is also a member of nCourage Investment Group, investing in and mentoring women-led startups.
