Mr. Christian Hannon serves as SENIOR PATENT ATTORNEY at the United States Patent and Trademark Office’s Office of Policy and International Affairs (OPIA). Mr. Hannon’s portfolio encompasses standard-essential patent issues, policy issues relating to artificial intelligence, and policy issues relating to plant inventions for which he advises senior agency leadership. Previously, Mr. Hannon has also held various roles across the USPTO including the Office of the Under Secretary and Director, the Office of the Solicitor, and Patent Operations. Mr. Hannon serves as a co-chair of the Department of Commerce’s Subcommittee on Standards-related IPR Policy as well as the Intergovernmental SEP Network.
